Untitled #10

Untitled #10

A Poem by hannahjchin

Remember to keep secrets from yourself
Tie them into knots.

Swallow them
Grab them in the palm of your hand
so tightly that they print themselves
deep into the lines of
your palms.
Until you cannot distinguish
what was done to you
and
what you were born
with.

Until it creeps into your
voice and
until your song is
laden with it,
so entwined you cannot
pull apart the threads of
yourself
and the secrets
you try to keep
from
yourself.
