Laura loved a piano man,
However, he didn’t know
That glorious musician
Playing magic in his show

She adored the rhythm sweet
Flowing gently
Mellow or upbeat
Fluid fingers lightly

Tapping melodious keys
With beauty never before
Created carrying such ease
Opening heart’s door

Said pianist turned into soldier
Young lady’s heart fell
Mind became blur
Feelings poor girl couldn’t tell

Weeping, twisting away
Crushed by war’s cruel game
Miss thought long, crying all day
Burning within passion’s flame

“Marry me?” maiden tried asking,
But gentleman moved more swiftly
For what made yon fighter’s music sing
Twas forever beautiful Laurie

This poem was written for a contest where you had to write a 100 word story w/out repeating a word. It is dedicated to my mother, who fell in love with a piano man, who swept her off her feet while they were both in the military.

This was remarkable and beautiful... and even more so due to the fact that it is based on a true story. Very well done! You certainly have a way with words (even when constrained to not repeat any of them).

What a beautiful poem. I love this, for I too, play the piano. I've always loved
piano music. I'd sit for hours just listening to my mother play; or my father play.
You succeeded in following the rules of the contest; Excellent job!

Word Count: 100
NO Repeat of any words!

This is wonderfully crafted. Telling a story in 100 words exactly is not easy to do.
You done it well. The flow is smooth; not choppy, not forced.
What a beautiful memory for your mother.

Kudos!
