The mist unfurls in a dazzling display
Playing on the sunset, the last hues of day
Filling the peach blossoms as their buds slowly fall
Making pale the roses, to inspire, to enthrall
The camellia beams in the soft dimming sun
A baby girl dreams of the next day begun
A blush slowly deepens on the face of first love
And a tinted beam of sunlight fills the sky above
A princess dances in the last glowing rays
Her gown fluttering in the misty haze
As if made of rosebuds, the skirts softly shift
And above, painted clouds in the heavens do drift
A melody floats into the sunset’s dye
As a maiden sings of all years gone by
Her daughter sews in the blurred hazy light
A quilt of azaleas for the babe at night
And the ribbons and roses in the hair of the bride
Twinkle and blossom for the groom’s joyous pride
And all these things, the light of sunset shows
'Til the last brilliant rays on a blossoming rose
