Blind Sight in HindsightA Poem by hannahSo many words that I could say But for some reason I hesitate Stubble across the floor Choke on my words Can’t look you in the eye Is it even right this time? Have I been so blind to see Just what has been laid out right in front of me? It’s like the wind is crawling on my back Pushing me forward, never to look back Could it all be so easy this time? It feels too right, it must be wrong I’ve been too blind to see You standing there in front of me We’ve tried this all before last year Didn’t feel the spark ever too clear Could it be that I’m making another mistake? Should I take my pride and walk away? Before it’s too late, before we waste time? Pretending that I am yours and you are mine Have I been so blind to see Just what has been laid out right in front of me? It’s like the wind is crawling on my back Pushing me forward, never to look back Could it all be so easy this time? It feels too right, it must be wrong I’ve been too blind to see You standing there in front of me I’ll be damned if I do it again Watch me push away yet another one In hindsight I didn’t see this coming But I can deny I don’t like the thrill of it all Have I been so blind to see Just what has been laid out right in front of me? It’s like the wind is crawling on my back Pushing me forward, never to look back Could it all be so easy this time? It feels too right, it must be wrong I’ve been too blind to see You standing there in front of me So hold me close, and hold me dear Don’t ever let me go You’ll have to put up a fight But I promise if you can It’ll all be worth it in the end I’ve been too blind, so help me see © 2013 hannah |
