Listen NowA Poem by earthtohannahMother darling, I love you so. Yet you tear me down all the time, hitting me with these harsh words of yours, making me feel like nothing, and pulling away my barriers, leaving me exposed.
Father dearest, I love you so. But you mutter these strings of words, Leaving me scared, Making me vulnerable, And causing this oppressive atmosphere, To hang over us.
Sister gorgeous, I love you so. Yet you make fun of me all the time, Leaving me shattered, Hurting inside, While you stand there so perfect, And making me the outsider of everyone.
To me, I love you so. You had the strength to carry on, To fight back for yourself, And make them all listen. But your courage is gone now, So give yourself to the light. © 2012 earthtohannah |
