Goodbye Darling

Goodbye Darling

A Poem by earthtohannah

I try to keep the smile off my face,

You think you're so special.

I watch you begging,

For me to take you back.

But after all this time,

And so many mistakes,

I just wonder,

Why should I put myself through it again?

I can feel it creeping over me,

The feeling of a right decision being made.

You see the change in my face,

I see the truth reflect in yours.

You don't want this either,

You know that you're using me,

And you've realised that I know that too.

You stammer and stutter,

Apologising,

But I'm afraid it's too late.

I laugh out loud,

Delirious with the freedom I now have.

Your eyes widen,

I see you realise too,

That it's truly over.

You stand up now,

Try to take control,

But I'm sorry darling,

I really don't give a damm anymore.

I turn around,

This time I'm the one that's leaving,

Because I refuse to be left,

And this time I will live my own life.
