A Broken Glass Heart Of Chains

A Broken Glass Heart Of Chains

A Poem by earthtohannah

What is this

I hold in my

Arms?

This heavy

Chained

Object which

Weighs down my

Arms. It

Hurts me so

Much to see

The little

Boy on the

Outside,

Struggling,

Crying,

Why would you

Do that?

You know that

It's wrong,

And you're hurting

Yourself

And no-one

Else.

This heart

Of yours can

Be mended

Again.

You broke mine,

So I know how

To mend it.

Let me

Through your

Barriers,

Your walls,

Your defences.

Let me

Help you.

I beg

You,

I know the pain.

I picked

Up the

Glass pieces

One

By

One.

I cut myself

On the

Sharp edges,

But through

The pain,

The love,

Joy,

Happiness

Of life,

Shone through.

Let me in,

Because

The mistakes

Of life,

Can always

Be mended.
