head lights in the rear view mirror

A Poem by hannah_marsh

Head Lights In the Rear View Mirror

As the headlights appear closer
In the rear view mirror
“They are chasing me!”
The thought seems clearer.

They are closing in really quick
Moments ago they were nowhere in sight
Now they can hit my car
And that they might.

They swerve to the left
Then to the right
What do they want?
Do they want to fight?

They creep up slowly
Up beside my car
Roll down their window
                Then…

What’s up girl there you are
Been looking ‘round
High and low
Didn’t think I would find you here what do I know?

I breathe a sigh of relief
As I realized it’s only my friend
But hey what is that…
Rumbling around the bend?

Ha. Good story. I like it.
Just when you think there's nothing to worry about...
Great job.
