Carrollton's Personal JesusA Poem by hannah_marsh
Carrollton’s Personal Jesus
I walked around town clothed fully in fake animal fur and dark sunglasses
I was mocked because, my beard rested on my chest
They called me Jesus.
I guess because, I looked like him
But do they really know what Jesus looked like? Not really
And do they know me personally? Not really
So why do they judge solely on looks, that makes no scence to me.
Yes, I may not look like the rest of the worldly heathens
Boys dressed in girl jeans, women wearing make-up so thick they look like the town clown
But I’ am me, dressed to impress me not someone else.
But that does not matter anymore
The skaters can grind my headstone for all I care
I don’t have to put up with their mockery anymore!
For I will always be Carrollton’s Personal Jesus!
