Body Shaming.

Body Shaming.

A Story by Hannah Langlinais

I've been obsessed with the topic of body shaming lately. Personally, I do not shame guys nor girls for the way they want to show off their body. Ive never really been the one to notice little things like comments under pictures calling that specific person dirty names for what they're posting, but lately it's been brought to my attention and I feel as if everyone needs to understand that we all have bodies. It's sounds dumb, yes, but think about it. In this generation, it's like a crime to post a picture of our bodies on social media. And I totally think that posting it on social media isn't the smartest thing or the right thing, but if people are happy and comfortable with doing it, then let them! Some people are not comfortable with the way they look. And those people are the ones leaving hate comments for the people who are comfortable with and do love the way they look. You can't be upset with how people want to show themselves off. You can't call girls 's***s', 'w****s', or 'hoes' for posting what they want to, especially if you don't know the definition to those specific words. You can't comment 'you have no a*s' or 'you're so flat chested.' You can't call guys 'too big' and say they need to hit the gym because they have no 'muscle.' You can't do these things just because you're unhappy. Making someone miserable will not make you any happier. Stop shaming people for the way they look and start telling people they're perfect the way they are. Encourage yourself and others to love the way you and they look. Everyone's unique and everyone has their own way of feeling happy or feeling good about themselves. So you do you, and we'll do us.

That's the problem with our society. We tend to be judgemental about anything and everything that we see. We don't have the guts to walk in other person's shoes, yet we tend to take a pedantic angle on everything that he / she does.

I agree, we are all unique and hence we shouldn't use the same scale to measure everybody.

A lot of people look displeased when they see prostitutes / pornstars but dismiss the people who request financial assistance / help.
