Once and TodayA Poem by HamonoAkiraThe Muse visited me in the office todayOnce I flew to the sun To behold her great ancient smile I lost in our game of stare Withdrew, Cowered, I went back to the earth and humbled my eyes. Once I flew to the moon And we danced, and pranced And pretended we were fairies But I got tired Of his arms full of toil I flew back to the earth and rested. Once I flew to the stars Glad and merry with light Our hearts beat like glowing embers of Mir My spark got lost Wet with tears I crawled my way to the earth to cry. Today I walked with the earth abreast And his hot breath tickling my chin And his cocoon warmth embracing me I fell Drank his draught I was humbled, rested, and comforted. © 2009 HamonoAkira |
