Skimming a Pond on a Hot Summer DayA Poem by HamonoAkirapoem while in the universityThe hot sun flew over my curls and I
Took the dainty pink daffodil
Wind never played on my blonde curls as I
Picked the rose until
I quacked and Phoebus’ horse-drawn chariot
Is already above me
Little grasshoppers rested in their moat
And I swam in their sea.
A hot summer day
Skimming on a pond
Discovering – what
My childhood just can’t
A hot summer day
Skimming on a pond –
And again, and again, and again before –
This moment end.
