Homeopathy Recognizes That Teeth Are Attached To PeopleA Story by hamnaabobakerWe’ve seen many technological advances in the last century or so.We’ve seen many technological advances in the last century or so, but sometimes technological advances don’t necessarily make for better dental care. The best way to take care of a patient’s needs is to treat him or her as a whole person, not just as a set of teeth (also known as holistic or homeopathic dentistry). Most dentists recognize that fact on one level or another, but they still try to cure systemic diseases with localized treatments. Only when dentists come to understand that oral disease is wrapped up in a whole person full of physical and mental issues and situations can dentists offer truly therapeutic services that really makes a difference in a person’s life.
Simply put, homeopathy is a healing system that
aims to cure illnesses according to specific principles of healing derived from
animals, minerals and largely plants. Involving very careful dilution of strong
substances, the result of homeopathic preparation is a product that can aid in
stimulating the healing process. The idea is not to take away certain symptoms
but to strengthen a person so that his or her body’s own healing functions take
over and rid the body of the disease condition.
Homeopathy finds the cause or starting point of
the disease by looking at the way symptoms are expressed. Then, the homeopathic
practitioner treats the whole patient -- not just the teeth or mouth. That
means that the whole person is healed, not just a symptom or two.
Of course, every patient is unique. While two
different patients may show up at a dentist with a toothache, the underlying
causes may be different. And so are the manifestations. One patient wants
sympathy and understanding. Another wants no sympathy and only a simple cure.
One is easygoing while the other is stubborn and hard to treat. The right
solution is one that treats the pain in each patient and also treats the
emotional issues in the patient with difficulty expressing the problem and
dealing with it.
Unless the whole person is treated, no cure can
be obtained through homeopathy.
