CH2A Chapter by hallowsunCH 2
My name was Ella Jonason, daughter of a newly successful entrepreneur. I had dyed my hair dirty blonde and they flowed around me in the latest fashion. I tugged at my salmon dress, readjusting it around my waist. Finally I entered the ball room taking in my surroundings. Briefly I calculated the approximate number of guests, noticing the important ones and spotted all of the room cameras and CCTVs " guessing their dead angles. Three body guards were close to the host " a large red faced man in his sixties " my target. I grabbed a glass of champagne and strolled nonchalantly towards him making sure I was never standing with my face in clear view of the cameras. Even with my dyed hair and green eye contact, one was never too careful. Ever so casually, right one the body guards attention were drawn somewhere else, I bumped into the host, making my glass crash on the floor. -Oh my! I am so sorry! Please forgive me I can be so clumsy sometimes! I exclaimed, in a high clueless voice while flickering my eyelashes. -Don’t worry about it my dear. Tell me what may a fine young lady like you be named? He replied with his seemingly best protective male voice. Sickening really. -Ella Jonason sir. I continued with my best innocent smile and gawking at him with admiration. He fell for it completely. -Oh yes, I heard all about your father! Nouveau rich! My poor dear you must not know many people here. Come with me little bird it shall be my pleasure to show you around as you are not acquainted with the place yet. And so began his long, proud explanation about his property. I kept up my act perfectly and soon pretended to be slightly drunk after he purposefully poured me a few drinks. As planned he stared to become more touchy, his hand resting unnecessarily low on my hips. I couldn’t afford to push him away no matter how icky his gestures felt. -And what might there be upstairs. I implied as if waiting for a particular answer while gazing at him almost lustfully. -Mainly my office and…my chambers, my lady. -Oh I would very much like to see your…office! He seemed to hesitate, then shrugged and directed me upstairs. The man showed me all of the second floor and unsurprisingly finished by his room. Ugh repulsing. He shoved me in, chuckling to himself which sent shiver of disgust in my spine. I couldn’t back away now, I had no choice but to endure a little longer. He strolled towards me, I giggled innocently, suddenly, he pinned me to the wall. His hands wandered along my curves while his mouth started sucking at my neck, he tensed and fell to the ground. I retrieved the needle I had just planted in his neck. How I loved the effectiveness of these sleeping drugs! I had ten minutes. Tying my hair up in a ponytail, I escaped soundly out of the room and made my way to his office. Taking a special hair pin my father had offered me a long time ago, I easily broke through the lock and the door flung open. Quietly I made my way to the desk and plugged the USB in the computer. A few minutes later I was outside walking casually from the party.
-Hey you! You’re coming with us! Two girls from my class grabbed my arm and I strongly resisted the urge to fight back. They pushed me against a wall in a laughable attempt to be tough. I looked at them blankly. -How dare you talk to Alexander like that? We allowed you to get away before because you kept alone and quite! Who do you think you are? You’re just an antisocial nerd, so keep being silent and keep in your corner, clear? Ah… so that’s what it was about. Gee school drama were so insignificant, I just didn’t get it. Boring. -Oi! Keep your head low! One of the girl yelled, flicking her blond hair. -Look I would be delighted to continue that conversation but I’m busy right now, can I ignore you some other time? -You b***h! The girl raised her hand to slap me. -Eh! What are you girls doing? The all too familiar voice of Alexander came interrupting. -Oh Alex! Uh…nothing, Luce just had something in her hair. Blondie replied, laughing in a high pitched voice. I rolled my eyes as she pretended to get rid of some imaginary leaf on my head. She looked at me and muttered something along the line of ‘you won’t get away so easily next time’. The two bullies hurried away, smiling innocently at the boy. I waited for him to follow them but he didn’t. -Don’t worry about them, I’ll make sure they leave you alone. What? Oh god, convinced he had just saved me like a prince on his right horse was he now? Was I supposed to jump at his feet and fawn over him: ‘oh thanks Alex! You are my savior!’ Ha. Not a chance. -Thanks but it won’t be necessary, I can take care of myself don’t worry. -Well, you know these girls are not so bad, you should try to get to know them. It’s not good to always be alone, I’m sure you could make friends easily. He said, like if he was some kind of guidance counsellor. -Please. Popular, bully, brainless girls whose goal in life is to get a hot boyfriend, be prom queen and stay popular. Not interested. -Come on that’s so prejudiced of you. -I’m not prejudiced, I hate all my classmates equally! I answered sarcastically. Look , I continued, I get it that you feel like you should help me or something but people here are boring, predictable and they don’t bring anything but trouble and pitiful drama. -How can you know unless you give it a try! -God! Please spare me the psychological lesson! You think you know everything, you think you know what is good for me but really you don’t! Save your made up heartfelt speech for what you would call normal people, those who actually give a damn about high school or what people think of them. That said, I walked away, deciding to ditch sport and stalked to the school gates. I caught a glimpse of a tall black figure " Smith? -Unusual of you to come all the way here, people might see you… I pointed out. -Yeah we are running out of time. You have them. -Of course. Here. -The info? -Burned them officially! What the hell? -Look I’m not supposed to tell you this but… The Rake Corporation might have had some business with your client. -What! And you made me go there?! Not dangerous my a*s! -We didn’t know. I have to go. Sorry. S**t. I was gonna have to watch my back if Rake was involved. I winced at the memories of my last encounter with one of them " had barely made it. I breathed slowly, not letting my upcoming nervousness take the upper hand. I was better trained now, stronger, I would be okay. Changing my mind I made my way to the gym, 20 minutes late only, that was acceptable. -Miss Clark! What a pleasure to be graced with your presence at last. Maybe you should consider taking this class a bit more seriously if you don’t want to fail. The teacher scolded. I tried to remember how many times I had been in port. Uh…twice? Or was it three times? Oops. The teacher sighed. -Go on the second floor. It’s the boys doing boxing here, the girls have dancing upstairs. Ugh. So typical. -Can’t I go with the boys instead? I asked hopefully. -Out of the question young lady! Off you go, the test is today so you have to present a dance you created to the whole class, stick to another group or do it alone, I actually couldn’t care less but you will be marked today. Holding back a nasty comment, I made my way to the second floor fuming. No way in hell was I going to give him the satisfaction of ridiculing myself. I smirked as I entered the room. Several pair of eyes gazed at me but not paying them attention I sat in a corner and waited for the end of the class. My turn came. The whole class was looking at me. A group of girl that included my earlier bullies giggled. The teacher asked me whet song I had prepared. Feeling like a little payback couldn’t hurt I selected the same song as Blondie and her gang. The music started and I let it flow in me. I closed my eyes and didn’t make a move for about ten seconds " enough time for people to start shifting and laughing, and then I started dancing. The moves came naturally, I was only reusing a choreography I had learned years ago during a mission and just adapted it to the new rhythm. It had the enormous advantage of containing martial moves disguised as dance movement, which made it seem far more complicated than it was. When I finished, most of my class was staring at me wide eyed. Quite satisfyingly the teacher too. Deciding to push his nerves a bit more, I flashed him a big smile before making my way to the changing room.
As I entered the class room " late for a change " I received a few envious and hateful glares from the female population. I sighed, maybe I had overdone it. Oh well. I sat in the usual empty spot next to the window and got out a piece of paper. Pretending to take notes, I gradually stopped listening completely to the history lecture. Only one hour left. -…Are you paying attention? I was brought out of my train of thoughts by the voice of the teacher looking expectantly at me. Oh…I had actually not paid attention at all for once. -No I wasn’t. I frankly replied with a blank face. -Very well, I would like a word with you when the bell rings! -That really won’t be necessary. -Oh I think it clearly is! She almost cried out hysterically. The bell rang. A flow of students made their way to the door. I stayed. -First, you arrive late, second you don’t even pay attention! And then you dare… -Ok! I got it. What are you going to warn me about? The finals? Really I couldn’t care less and I already know everything you are saying so don’t worry about me. I burst out. The teacher looked at me incredulously, then anger washed over her face. I grabbed my back and stalked out, ignoring her yelling for me to come back. Teachers were annoying, students were annoying, why couldn’t they just all stuff it and leave me alone!? I for one was not trying to invade anybody’s privacy nor was I actually disrupting any class. I forced myself to calm down as I got out of the bus. I couldn’t afford to be careless and rash anymore. I finally arrived home and made my way to the training room. © 2015 hallowsun |
