Miracle

This is a poem I wrote for Samantha aka the single most important person in my life. I cannot even translate what she is, so the closest thing would be best friend.

Some people say we're all born with a miracle
Maybe we won't get cancer
Or maybe we'll never be the victims of a bank robbery
My miracle, is that of all the paths you could have taken, you took the one that led you to me
How is it that we ended up as members of the same species, in the same time period, on the same continent
Out of seven billion people, I met you
The person who made me smile a little wider, laugh a little louder, and took my breath away
Our meeting was a twist of fate, the kind that happens to two in a million
You were looking for the lush green meadows and I was following the stars
Yet miraculously, the fabric of the universe was folded and our worlds collided
So maybe do all get a miracle
Maybe I'll be the victim of a robbery
Or get cancer
Because I already have my miracle
