![]() Life Is A Coconut TreeA Poem by CC![]() This poem is comparing life to a coconut tree![]()
You start at the bottom, unable to climb or make progress against the harsh conditions climbing requires
Slowly gathering strength, courage, and bravery until you are ready to wrap your arms around the wide trunk and hoist yourself up a few inches Your high spirits will come crashing down with you as you fall back to the beginning You're right back at square one except your few seconds of success have ignited the spark of confidence that will change the game forever Your next few tries are more or less the same Days turn into weeks and you haven't made any progress until that one magical day when you finally learn the secret; an unsuccessful attempt should not be deemed as failure; it should be seen as a lesson Before you know it, you have climbed a quarter of the tree and make the mistake of looking down Suddenly you do not feel on top of the world, and you start to believe the lies of nostalgia The comfortable tickle of the bark becomes an irritated rash The butterflies in your stomach have turned into bees But deep down you know you will succeed Because the coconuts are in sight, and as you extend your fingers they slowly brush over the coconuts and you know your journey as come to an end © 2017 CCAuthor's Note
