Chapter Two: May 24

Chapter Two: May 24

A Poem by Nessa
"

Yeah. This is part two.

"

That night my mind turned into rush hour

The streetlights were traded for carnival flashes,

I saw the perfection in the most imperfect flaw.

The dashboard sung back to us an unfamiliar tune

So unforgettable and beautiful, almost like you.

It raved about the serendipity, and in this moment,

It held So. Damn. True.

I believe my impaired vision has healed,

Because I can clearly see the light at the end of this hour.

Everytime I inhaled, I breathed in a bliss amour

So full and stunning; it was something never experienced before.

Everytime I exhaled, I let out the optimum point

I tried grasping it too tight, it almost passed.

So we sat on the hood of your car and got high

We have exchanges of tidings behind each other's backs,

It finally cured our itchy ears.

Here's a promise we made as I fell into your chest--

Our minds can dance together. Forever.

And we handed over tickets to that old man behind the counter

To be spinning into nothing, to just try it once,

And we achieved it-- the feeling of being infinite.

And I screamed, afraid to let go and get lost

In this mess of people on every street, their faces are blurred.

And he put his arm around me, to keep me safe.

Suddenly-- he let go and backed off,

And you took that place to stay forever.

It's time you proved that this was the right thing to do in the right moment.

It wasn't easy, but the wind that whipped through my hair held hope.

Let's see where this takes us,

Because there's no side to cross to; the bridges can't save us now.

The chorus sings goodnight,

I thought you said you were tone deaf.

Because you have a whisper that screamed through,

It hushes all noise and completes all silence,

That's exactly when I knew that this was the place for me.

Let's forget the nights my eyes brought April showers

They truly did bring these May flowers.

You really have a knack for metaphores, my dear. Everything was described so beautifully~

I could just keep those lines for myself and be happy lol, they are SO DAMN GOOD.

love it. love how you carried through the idea of the ride and the carnival and all that - it's like you're there but you're not. as though you used it as a real event, while at the same time as a metaphor, which just worked perfeclty - making it tangible enough to the reader to feel, but profound enough to make us sigh.

Just beautiful my dear.

Really impressed.

Thanks for sharing.
hugs
