Chapter 1: ElsewhereA Poem by NessaThis is just the first.
Let’s take a grasp on things beyond our reach Because the silence holds a better time It rises and breaks through the thick smoke around It concentrates on the tick of the clock;slower with every move made. And then a late night phone call leads into a rhythm of thoughts Flowing out the window and weaving through the stars The light breaks our trance and you’re face down on the floor You broke from the memories that left us As they turn from real—to ghost. Feeling of perfect nights And not so perfect days. Your voice echoes through the emptiness of this room Around and around it goes, Waiting for a something or someone to hit. Down they go, Never stopping to realize This is the moment. The moment to live and break through the expectations The interior makes me nostalgic. Let's take it for a spin; it brings us to times They can't be seen by the eyes of the ignorant We cross off the words exchanged through our tongues Like days on that calendar hung in the living room. So we expand our mind to each end of these halls. As seconds slow to minutes; they get checked off with the passing time. We count down the hits till we break 5,4,3,2, and 1. It's speeding up, there's no stopping it now. © 2008 NessaAuthor's Note
