This is who I am for you

This is who I am for you

A Poem by Erik Hirsch
"

I wrote this because I feel this way constantly.

"

Numb is what I feel when I'm alone,

it is as comfortable as a hammock, I too sway back and forth but my dreams lessen the pain and keeps me going, now I sit in a forest and spy a family of deer, as they glide to their journey of refuge from the rain, I stay where I am and weather the storms from within as I begin to write.

To an onlooker they will see a man just writing and staying at peace, but I only can look to them for waves of inspiration, I am comfortably numb by the forest's tales of wisdom. As I write this now I catch a fleeting glimpse of hope and a beautiful face, whether it was yours I do not know yet but my heart continues to ache.

I ask myself why must I wait, it is such cruelty that I put myself through as I wait for a taste of your delicacy. When I am finished writing for you I savour every second as though it is the last piece as though it is chocolate cake.Your sweetness surpasses anything I have ever known in my life.

I will part my lips and offer you a small kiss as to not spoil your goodness, we know this to be a struggle yet it is perfection,

my heart races like a yacht carrying parcels of nerves, this is who I am for you.
