![]() What You've BecomeA Poem by Haley Lynn ThomasThey say talking makes it better But eventually they stop listening They're too caught up in their down lives To really give a damn about yours
You refuse to hear the truth and yes it hurts how much he loves you In you I see what I've lost
You blame me for our troubles but I'm not the one who pushed me away The way I'm treated isn't fair
because I'm forever the scapegoat They all tell me what I should do But they'd never walk in my shoes
I've pushed everyone I love away The truth is I'm still a child Lost in the body of a grown up
We're more similar than I’d like to admit I'm scared when I see myself in you Am I destined to become Someone who can't feel anything at all?
But no one around me understands and frankly they're too busy with their own lives To stop and give a damn about me © 2012 Haley Lynn Thomas |
