Another Scar

Another Scar

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

Turns out you were just like the rest...

"

Yesterday you promised me you'd never leave

I was skeptical, but I believed

In my heart I guess I knew

That in the end we wouldn't make it through

Last night you said 'I love you'

I didn't know it'd be the last time

You'd hold me in your arms

I didn't think you'd take it back

Just when I was starting to trust again

I let myself do what I swore I wouldn't

I opened up my heart to you

For you to leave another scar

This morning I was so mad I threw your things

Your stereo out my two story window

I was careless but not carefree

Just like you were with my heart
