Coffee

Coffee

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

I wrote this for you even though you'll never read it.

"

I saw you last night in a dream,

and I was bolder than I’d ever really be.

I walked right up to you

and said "I really like your face.

Let’s go get some coffee,

I know this quaint little place."

I wonder if you left

thinking I never liked you,

when I spent days waiting

for you to say something.

But you didn’t even bother with goodbye.

If this was all just a game,

then I truly got played.

And maybe I’m just too hard to read,

but maybe you just made it too complicated.

But if we ever cross paths again,

and if you really are genuine,

then I hope you can be bolder.

Because I really miss your face,

and I know this quaint little coffee place.
