Just Because You Have to Be

Just Because You Have to Be

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

Someday I might be alright...Even when no one is looking

"
I've never been someone who could hide
Or pretend that everything's alright
I've never been someone who could act like I'm fine
Just because everyone is looking

I've never been one to hold back tears
I tend to just let them flow
I've never been one to told it together
I tend to just let myself go

I don't know how to be strong
They tell me that I have to be
It's important to give off the right impression
Be okay just because all eyes are on you

When you're all alone in the dark
Then it's alright to fall apart
But not here in this public place
You wear a mask; a smile on your face

Well I've never been one to hide
To disguise what's on the inside
But someday I might be alright
Even when no one is looking
