Temporary

Temporary

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

I wish we could recapture it

That spark we'd ignited

I wish we could fly forever

And never have to land

I wish you still looked at me

The way you did that first day

I wish that had been the start of forever

Instead of something temporary

I wish we could cage it

So that it couldn't escape

Keep it locked away forever

In our hearts were it would stay safe

I wish we could find it

But we know it's long gone

We lost it forever

When we crash landed
