Moment

Moment

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas
"

For the one who doesn't mind being my muse...

"

When you told me that you love me

I felt my heart stop momentarily

It's the moment that I dreamed of

But in my dreams it never happened like this

You're charming, swept me off my feet

Then brought me back down to reality

One where there's no you and me

Oh honey can't you see

When you tell me that you need me

I think my heart broke for an eternity

And when we parted with a kiss

I knew that this was it

But if you truly love me

Then why did you let me down?

And if I really cared about you

Then why did I allow us to drown?

Because when you told me that you love me

I felt my heart stop momentarily

But when I replied I love you too

In that moment we were doomed
