Sometimes the easiest decisions to make are also the hardest.

I wish that I could be brave

Instead I just run away

I come so close to having it all

Just to stand back and watch it fall

 

I tell myself it's for the best

That I'm not being selfish

But if letting you go is right

Tell me why does it feel so wrong?

 

I really do care about you

Your smile could be my whole world

But that terrifies me in ways

I can't even begin to explain

 

I wish it could all be as simple

As they make it sound

But I know if I walk away

You won't ever come back around

 

You think you like me now

But I've got layers that surround

I'm more complicated than you know

And I'd live in fear that you'd go

 

Maybe you'll hate me for this

But I'll never forget your kiss

And I wish I could be brave

But instead I'm running away
