Nothing Else

Nothing Else

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

You have the biggest brown eyes

They’re so soulful and deep

It’s like you can see straight through me

Like you’re peering into my heart

You’ve got the kind of hair

That sticks up in all the right ways

I want to run my fingers through it

And pull you in for a kiss

I could sit here for hours

Just listening to you speak

I’ll scoot a little closer

Until our hands are touching

This is the beauty of first love

This is the wonder of falling

They say nobody’s perfect

But God came pretty close with you

You’re left handed but feel so right

When you’re here by my side

This is where you were meant to be

I hope you’ll never leave

Your brown eyes are hypnotizing

Your smile is positively blinding

You pull me in for a kiss

And nothing else feels like this
