I Wish

I Wish

A Poem by Haley Lynn Thomas

I wish you'd come home
I wish you'd stay
I wish you'd find a way
To take the pain

I wish I could say
That I love you
But to do that
I'd have to know you

I wish you'd realize
It's not my fault
They aren't my sins
But I'm punished anyway

I wish you'd return
I wish you cared
I wish you cried
Over what you've missed

I wish you understood
I'm not taking sides
This isn't a war
Unless you want it to be

You're a part of me
I'm forever a part of you
But you deny me
And so I deny you too

But I still wish you'd come home
I wish you'd apologize
I wish you'd try
i wish you found your heart
