Writing is WonderfulA Chapter by Haley A. N.I looked for the key for a hour or two ,but I could not find it. I ended up reading one of my favorite books, The Giver by Lois Lowery.I had just got to the part where Jonas becomes the giver when I heard my mother call to me, “Come down to dinner!” I closed my book and replied with, “Coming!” I rushed down the spiral staircase, and into the kitchen. The kitchen was nothing special. It just had the basics like an oven, stove, microwave, cupboards, and a dining room set. I got to the table and noticed that mother had made my favorite, steak. I sat down next to my mother and father was on her left side while I was on her right. My mother was over six feet tall ,and had an hourglass figure. Her face was long, and you could see her cheek bones. She had dark brown eyes that were almost black, and her hair was the same but wavy. Her lips were round and pronounced, but here nose was small and petite. My father was tall ar six and a half feet, and skinny like mother. He had a goatee around his round plump lips that was black. His hair was shoulder length, straight, and brown with black highlights. His eyes were totally different from my mothers. They were round and a bright yellow green color. his nose was round and paler than the rest of his face. I on the other hand was five feet eleven inches with a hourglass figure like my mother. My face had long pronounced cheek bones, plump lips like my mother , and my eyes are darkly highlighted by my black eyelashes. My eye color was the most unique. My left one was a yellow green like my dads ,and my right was a deep brown almost black like my moms. Mother always loved my eyes and said ‘they were special that way’. I honestly didn't care for my eyes. “How do you like the house so far?” my father asked. “No problems yet,” I replied. I continued to eat my steak and father studied my eyes. Only a little while past after he finally said something. “You're hiding something, my dear. I for one would live to know what,” He said with anger dripping heavily in his voice. “ It’s nothing father,” I replied quietly afraid he might yell. “You found something i’m guessing, and don’t want to share. Am I right?” He almost yelled at me with even more anger dripping from his voice. “I swear it’s nothing father. It’s just a book, nothing to worry about,” I replied with nervousness clearly audible through my tone. “ Very well,” was all he replied with. No one spoke after this ,and we sat in silence. I excused myself from the table when I was done ,and went upstairs to my room. I reached the top of my spiral staircase ,and saw a key on a chain just sitting there. The key reminded me of an old fashioned chest key that was half that size. I picked it up ,and went into my room. I grabbed the diary ,and sat on my bed twisting the key into the hole. The straps came off ,and I opened the book to the first entry. I looked for others but found none. ‘Dear Reader, If you are reading this I have moved to my house, and left you this diary. I have set an enchantment on this diary. The spell allows me to converse with who ever has possession of it. The pages that are blank are for communication ONLY! If you do anything else I will be able to see it ,so if you wish for me to know of it go right ahead. If you need a person to talk to I will be able to talk. Just start to write and i will answer. You can always trust me. From, A.S.K. I finished reading, and when I was done I immediately grabbed my feather and ink I used to write with. I thought of how or what I would say ,but came up with nothing so I just ended up writing something I thought was plain and stupid.
