Unfulfilled

Unfulfilled

A Poem by Shadenfrauder
"

What often happens with unfulfilled hopes and expectations.

"

It was as it was
yet never was;
different to what he had known
yet same as he knew;
the White Rose - bent
had drawn
blood
from a merciless finger.
Proud
but broken;
pure
but soiled;
perfect
but sullied.

Her vengeance delivered
she folded -
as quietly
as gently
as peacefully
as the day she
opened soft, soft petals
with a silent hope
to be held
by hands of the eternal
undying
perfect
love.
