Happy BirthdayA Story by Cal:C
He kicked the curb, scuffing the top of his already ragged shoe and probably bruising his big toe. He didn't care.
It was his little sister's birthday. She would be twelve to his nineteen, and instead of a gift he had given her the impression that he didn't care, because he was a nine-hour drive away and hadn't spoken to his family for over a month. He didn't even have a job so he couldn't buy her a present. Christmas was coming up in a couple of weeks, but he doubted he'd be able to buy even something cheap to make up for it. Ramen was sometimes more than he could afford. He kicked the curb again. No point in needlessly ruining his shoes further, but he didn't care, not one bit. Beware the frozen heart. He chuckled darkly, petered off as he remembered how much she loved that f*****g movie. If he had met Frosty right then, he probably would've given the snowman the finger.
