SpelunkerA Poem by Callongdampdark exploration! hooraya man walked into a longdampdark and a dwarf bade him “good morning” with a sharp smart salute in the bat-filled underground echodark. the dwarf vanished into some tunnel that hadn’t been there moments ago: geomancy. the man felt the ironsharp pickaxe burrowing inside his belly. a chunk of gold, daybright in that nightdark, fell to earth and a wisp of light, dim as the moon, floated by in search of its breakfast, silver and gold comingling. the cavefairy, hungry for its minerals, nipped at the man’s fingers when he reached for it, rubyred welling up, gleaming fiercely, a thousand horsemen licked up in a flash. a man ran from a longdampdark and the sun bade him “good evening” with a ray of light that illuminated everything inside the leaf-filled aboveground stardark.© 2014 CalAuthor's Note
