The Fall

The Fall

A Poem by Cal
"

people do a lot of falling: up, down, asleep, head over heels...

"
last night i fell
into sweet oblivion,
bound pages falling
out of my hands.

they crinkled and folded
against the blue sheets,
against the pillowcase,
dog-earing themselves horribly.

and i fell asleep swiftly,
with a memory of you
on my lips. it tasted
like so many lying words:

sweet, and so cold

Oh wow, I'm quite taken by this. It flows along nicely, is sweet and concise and the words used would feel good to say aloud. I like the repetition of the 'against' in the second verse. (also the little description beneath the title works really well)
