Thoughts of RemembranceA Poem by Chynna CoCreated a song (or poem, if it's better in the poetry section) for my novel. I got inspired by how my character (the guy) was dealing with loss. Hope to publish my novel including this~~
Step by step,
I walk along the wet cobble stoned streets. The water splashes beneath my feet as it tries to leave my mark. Slowly and slowly, The pastel sunset lights my broken reflections, and what I see is you standing beside me. How long will I be living inside this dream without you? When I return to reality, Will you be there? Will you hold me and fight with me like our old days? My mind is full of you. Even if my heart is already parched from this longing, I will find you again. You that lives in my imagination from the endless time. From your sweet humming in the quietness of my lonely nights. From the cool breeze that sends your scent to my empty days. From your fervor laugh that stands out among the crowd of people. You are there with me. What will I do now? Where will I go now? The sunflower you love rests under the moonlight. If I plant a thousand more, Will I finally be able to find you? Will we have the chance to run in this yellow field all over again? Looking up at the starry night, I can only take comfort by believing we're looking at the same night sky. Tomorrow, the day will pass as how it always does. And I will be walking in many new streets, wandering alone. My mind is full of you. Even if my heart is already parched from this longing, I will find you again. In the rain that drenches my shattered self as you hug me from behind. In the bright sparkle of liquor that subsides from your warm smile. In the viewfinder of my worn out camera as you stand to complete the picture. You are there with me. What will I do now? Where will I go now? Your memories have come to find me. And it stayed to entangle with mine. But I know, somewhere out there, The real you is waiting for me. Where shall I look now? The map seems so vast. Even if I lay and close my eyes under a tree in a peaceful afternoon, For a split second, you are there when I open it. And my heart keeps getting torn over and over again.
