Usefulness

Usefulness

A Poem by Dennis White
"

Reflective poem on the titled subject

"
The can I kick has a hollow sound
Its silver flesh reflects the boot dents

The sliced cling peaches
Which once populated its interior
Are but a fading memory

This can's usefulness has been exhausted
Other than its new current use
A kick toy for a restless boot

Don't outlive your usefulness

I don't have any criticism. Obviously you are a good writer, and your work is polished.

The message is very clear. Outlive your usefulness, and you become just something to kick around...
