Little Bird Told Me

Little Bird Told Me

A Poem by sri

Little Bird Told Me

One day a little bird spoke to me

of a gift that comes from a resume

he said little me be ready for a ray of joy

to be gurgled fast down ahoy

Today little bird shouts to me

from a sturdy branch of the cork tree

be strong for what’s to come and conquer

of what you fear of your taker

Yesterday little bird whispered to me

that it is time to let my baby be

fly, grow and nurture love in sorrow

live heartily of the happy mellow

Someday little bird will breathe to me

from across the balmy south china sea

my dream will be to come and take me

forever lost in that degree.

"Live heartily of the happy mellow" I really like that line especially. No wonder you are a 'writer to watch'!

A well written piece. Tale of a woman's love always giving what the child needs, especially full filling their need for freedom.

another time another place,
another life the bird told my grace,
let it fly to parts unshown,
and bring to you the hearts unknown,
then let fly and nurish seed,
reap the bounty of your good deed...

This is very different. Makes me think of plans of travel and how life can change within a moment.

This was unique and interesting. I loved the use of 'resume' in the first stanza. I like the little bird and its wisdom. Lovely poem.

Rylan took my comment :) Yes - I love the way you've altered the stanzas, and the rhyming couplets work wonderfully. This is a great little spring time poem. My only suggestion would be a little more imagery, perhaps. I"d like to see the bird, or understand what the branch of the cork tree looks like...
Great work!

A love the slight alterations in each stanza, one day, today, yesterday, someday and the changes from the bird speaking, shouting, whispering and breathing. This is a very cute piece of writing. Good job!

When I read the first stanza I got the image of wisdom being bestowed on a person. It was one of the most unusual illusions of bending time for me, because it was the first time I felt as if I was in the present, future and past all at once. It was like being in this realm, but not. You then traveled through each period of time in segments. This is very unique and well thought out. It is brilliant and definitely something that you should be very proud of. Great work.
