Ordinary and Extraordinary

The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is a word.

Perhaps, looking back

 

I'd already crossed the line

 

That infinite distance between the ordinary

 

And the world that I left behind

 

When did I realize it

 

That my first step was the last

 

To the beginning of everything

 

Because what had ended was the past

 

Though the world seemed to know instinctively

 

That another end was in sight

 

Could the rest of us only accept it

 

Knowing nothing as we fight

 

Somehow I reach the point of thinking this

 

That I'm not the one who's going to die

 

The border that separates dreams from reality

 

Is the one that's going to fly

 

Although I might one day forget

 

That this power that relies on me as well

 

Perhaps I too will know instinctively

 

What ending I must tell

 

Perhaps, looking back

 

I'd already crossed the line

 

That infinite distance between the ordinary

 

And the world that I chose to leave behind
