Can You Still Believe?A Chapter by Haeshin
Can you believe in fairytales?
Even while knowing they're not real
They say happy tales are for those who aren't strong enough yet
To make the hope they can't feel
Can you believe in a fantasy?
The joy that laws of physics say you can't have
After all they're nothing but pages in books
They may keep your heart but not your body alive
Well, I can believe in fairytales
Even knowing they can't do things like brush my hair
Stories may not give me food or money or a nice paying job
But hope for something, anything, has to start somewhere
I can believe in wistful dreams
The kind that you can't ever hold (just like air!)
While those happy endings can't be done
Having them inspire me to make my own is just about fair
Honestly it's fine if I'm not Cinderella or Greta and Kai
That I can't use magic for adventures or meet my love by 'chance'
Because happy endings are just the beginning
They spur on other steps to a dance
So what if they can't happen?
Fairytales are the sun and water for the quiet seed
That is your hope for other, maybe more important things
That anyone may want and really need
So I can believe in fairytales
Even knowing they'll just be words and pages, an unrealistic fling
I can still dream of a life that science says will never be
Because they're just a few of the feathers to my wings
There's plenty of more important joys
Like a certain person already has been to me
And while you're not a fairytale, or magic, or a magic golden goose
I'd rather have this world with you in it, you see?
