Every day passes

I realize more and more

That our lives

Nothing but a big lie

 

Most of the things we see

Most of the things we hear

Nothing but a big lie

 

What we used to believe

What we thought it real

Nothing but a big lie

History, stories, and theories

Magazines and TVs

Most are a source of lies

People we trust

People we love

All turns to be

 nothing but a big lie

 

What left is our faith

Please let me keep my faith

It is what makes me strong

what keeps me away from wrong

It is what makes life worth living

 

How could we stay sane

If we are living

In a bubble of lies and shame

Nicely presented Hadeel and it is good to see the faith in the second last stanza that is needed to get through The Big Lie. I wonder at times whether it is a theory or a fact... I wonder how unconscious the belief in The Big Lie actually is... So many seem to meander about unaware of truth for to them the lie is the truth. It is especially hard to bear when it is friends and family doing it. Thank God for faith!

I wrote this poem , in response to my conflicted feelings about things we used to believe since ever , that it is a fact, but when we get older we realize that its nothing but a lie. And there is a lot of people who are trying to make us question and doubt every thing in our lives ,,its unbearable to feel that you are living in a big lie , so what keeps us strong its the inner faith we hold in our heart ...
