Love Not Alone

Love Not Alone

A Poem by I Cast a Shadow
"

Inspired by the quote within. . .

"
Can I love a rock?
A necklace?
A shirt?
Inanimate construction -- all from dirt.
I deliver a memory and I hold it dear.
Though it does not respond -- cannot love back or fear.
I can love nothing and something -- though not back.
"The fire of love is kindled in the noble heart --
As is the power in a precious stone."
Though nothing is precious when I am alone.
