Brittany's Sonnet #1

Brittany's Sonnet #1

A Poem by I Cast a Shadow

Mine Lover lost in a time which was past

Found later now present though seeming late

Rich regret post memory's shadows cast

Shadows reel black with white -- long future's wait

In secure crutch knowing wheels moving quick

Gradual garden promised sacred lair

Fire-rain love storm comes parched -- lusty flames lick.

Astonishing calm breeds urgent repair

Long finite squall leaves quiet subtle sound

Else the eye of calm calamity breeze

Born from ash, I cast eternal calm ground

Trials shape our-land; sculpt new memories

Comfort settles in, aft' adventures pass

Grow old. . . Die with me. . . Ever lov'ly lass. . .

Well crafted and so different, you sort of got your name in the 3rd line too.

Wow! A sonnet! They are so hard to write, and to write them poetically and well is even more difficult. Excellent job!!!
