Happy Deluge of You

Happy Deluge of You

A Poem by I Cast a Shadow
"

Inspired by Led Zeppelin's "The Rain Song". Something like this almost happened to me and it made me reflect on my would-be feelings. I'm thankful every day it didn't happen.

"
Falling so far feels like floating
Trickling random sparkling spring from sky
Cool drench of heaven delivered life
Fuel the earth through the seasons
I never mind when it rains
Arms out wide; my rain vigil.
Will she die from own-ed hand?
Will Her tears fall from the sky?
I shall remain stainless
Stargazing through the storm
Asking for more.
Where have you gone?
Where did you hide?
Perhaps to fall from the bridge
To join the sky's surrender.
Now every time it rains I feel your embrace.
And every time it rains you cry for me.
Never will I be yesterday's son.
Yesterday's sun.
Yesterday's gone.

Author's Note

I Cast a Shadow
I rewrote most of the original lyrics in my own voice. Led Zeppelin owns the rights to "The Rain Song". This is merely based on "The Rain Song" and not copied from it. It is written in my own words as inspired by the original song.

A melancholic yet beautiful piece of writing here. The use of repetition ('every time it rains...') is effective, for me at least, because it emphasises how attached you can become to a person, even if they are gone. I also like the different descriptions of the rain, such as 'Cool drench of heaven' and as a 'fuel'. Thank you for sharing :)

Melancholy rain,
Melody of minor chords.
The storm passes on.
