Man-like Howl

Man-like Howl

A Poem by I Cast a Shadow
"

I wrote this for a contest and to challenge myself to write about something I have never written about.

"
Beckoning children,
I hear them crying.
Spilled blood without trying.
Nightmaring hunt curse;
I search forever.
T'quench eternal thirst.
Forever prayers to end my doom
Stricken by silent and hollow moon.

A very dark and nightmarish scene. This is nicely eerie. You know something lethal was here without having to see it. Chilling!

An evil howl sounds!
Primitive fears have surfaced.
Was that man or wolf?

I like this poem a lot, but I feel like it should be longer. The ending feels cut off, like you stopped your Muse when it wanted to take over and continue. I also feel like it could use one more good word, a nice, emotion-filled, strong word to complete it. Other than the above, I think it's a fantastic piece. Keep writing :)
