Mind BrewedA Poem by I Cast a ShadowThis one is about 3 years old. Tightened it up a bit before I posted. Inspired by one of my favorite things. Can you guess? If ever oh ever there was such a cup; A single wish granted with two thumbs up. Subtle fresh aroma swirls in my mind Of fresh ground dreams of an unborn kind. They were picked from a tree in a far away land And yielded to me with delicate demand. Mind steeped brew poured from a tongue. My! What a moment behind the eyes of the young. Hot and steamy notions that run down my throat. They loosen my spine and take off my coat. Cool and detached in a far away place, The Earth moves with me; every tree, every trace Letting go of meter I'm free to run superconscious thought. Fold your legs and unravel you mind. Take a climb that's as easy as a fall through an endless bottom. Dim and inspiring lights that fade and flicker in a twisted smoke Spirits from trees pose warning haunts speaking of excess Know boundaries. Freedom. Govern yourself. The cup is empty. Brought back to that which society was, is, and will be raised on, I wait for the time when space and time become my pawn To use and to puppet for an amusement like no other. When I can truly make the Universe my lover. In a deep and somber slumber, the beans are crushed and mixed. With day to day and mellow moods every stormy mind is fixed. © 2011 I Cast a ShadowReviews
