I have to come to Portland. Have to. I feel like I would fall in love with that city over and over again.
I imagine this poem being written after taking in the wealth of the sun and then being s**t on by the, from what I have heard, forever constant rain in the Northwest. Fun read, man.
I smiled when I read this. The dialogue with the 'Rain', as if talking to a long lost friend =] as you might have noticed, I'm a great fan of descriptive poetry, and consider it a great talent if one can do this with the fewest of words =] Good write!
The use of again in both the first and second line seems a bit repetitious. I would maybe change the first one to another word seeing as the second one is being used to rhyme with friend. Besides that the poem flows wonderfully. You really get a sense of the emotion associated with the rain
I like the rhythm this poem has. The personification of the rain is effective too...it makes me almost think of the rain as an entity with a mind of its own, deliberately casting misery over all that it sees. Thank you for sharing :)
