And Yet Together We Will

And Yet Together We Will

A Poem by I Cast a Shadow
"

I wrote this for my lover months ago. I have several of these themed poems that I have successfully and unsuccessfully collected and am attempting to edit as much as I can while keeping original form.

"

Black skies invade

No light to break

Sunlight; dull blades

Unscathed pitch and ash gust eternal

. . . and yet

Light bursts and pours when two poles meet

Enough to shatter reality

Without bonds they bide in hysterical voids

Like mortal vamps in torturous shadows

. . . together

We will suffer with meaning than alone with none

We will pierce dark abysmal contort waiting beyond

We will exist more than before

We will venture in euphoria making fantasy reality

. . . We will

I enjoyed this write, I liked the imagery, although to truly grasp it I had to re-read a few lines. This does prove effective to draw the piece together, but left me with some open ground. HOWEVER, that said, that is also what I enjoyed about it. It leaves you with a painted and well defined scene, and allows you to venture into it yourself =] I appreciate that in writing.

Tantalizing imagery. I feel like there is a great fight going on between the lines. Like someone is keeping you and your love down and out. This poem could give support to so many various causes and movements. It has a lot of meaning behind it, whatever those meanings may be. "We will exist more than before." Isn't that the point of love? Great words.
