In the Middle of a Hurricane

In the Middle of a Hurricane

A Poem by Haddiyyah
"

In the middle of a hurricane, I met a Tortured Soul

"

I was lost in the middle of a Hurricane

Thought I was becoming insane

Left only with the debris of my vain worries

And memories of some past stories

Then I crashed into your Tortured Soul

You touched my Scars and watched me burn in Flames

I touched the Stars and wondered about your Aims

These were our kind of Games

In this whirlpool, I started to suffocate

But you made it look like it was great

Your words were poison to my soul

There’s burning desire and there’s Desire burning

You saw beauty where I saw disguise

Never been one to compromise except for these eyes

You asked me to raise the White Flag for a while

I smiled and in your shoes, walked a mile

But I lost myself in the middle of a Hurricane

Thought I became insane

Left only with the debris of my vain worries

And memories of some past stories

Seems you grew, paused, reached, found, dreamed, lived, lost, wandered, grew - full circle. Life happens - as we live it, seldom as we want it.

Now it's more than thoughtful I must say....I liked the way you kept the same stanza at first and at last....it makes it go like boomerang that a reader goes again at the same place from where it started!
Great read😊
