A Safe Place

I have Created a safe place in my time of need

A safe place is hidden deep within my soul

Beyond the glance of any other

But that’s what makes it safe

A secure environment for no other to penetrate

A place that I can call my own

A secret place within my soul that has no windows

No one can see in

Only I can see from the inside out

No longer will I allow breaching to occur

Too much has been stolen

Lost from years of abuse

 

A safe place is hidden deeply within my soul

Where the ocean tides meet the sand

Crashing upon the surface

With a salty fragrance that reaches my nostrils as a perfume

Where the trees sway in rhythmic motion

And the breeze creates a humming melody whistling faintly within my eardrums

Comfort and peace flood this secret place

But I must keep it locked

Because vulnerability is not an option once again

 

A safe place is hidden within my soul

Where all my tears are collected which form a bath of purity

Where I dive into the stream of peace

Where my heart and soul are content

 

A safe place hidden deep within my soul

Locked by chains

Surrounded by layers of stone

Stacked brick by brick from each encounter

Each piece of pain that fits into the puzzle of my life

Trust is no longer of appearance

Love is something I have lost hope of the existence of

 

A safe place is hidden deeply within my soul

Where the valley is of greenery as far as the eyes can see

The birds sing songs in constant continuous rhythmic melody

While simultaneously praising the power above

Streams of mercy wash over the earth

Creating a freshness about the air

Clear as a crystal which epitomizes transparent purity
