A Ghazal

A Ghazal

A Poem by Shalini R

A ravished man may devour

But he without a home is certain to devour.

The largest burger known to man

Took me over an hour to devour.

The home remains the same

As long as our love stays undone.  This we must devour.

Life smells sweet as honeysuckle

Inhale this sugared flower and devour.

The engine blew out that bittersweet night

The radiator was dry, and needed more power and water to devour.

Speaking of water

I ought to take a shower after I devour.

There is much beauty in one who devours

A radiant hunger quenched by the hour.

I admire your talent. "Ghazal" devours the reader like a book that cannot be put down devours the mind. Great job!
