Falling

Falling

A Poem by Shalini R

The panels on the wall peel off

Like dying bark on

Old oak trees.

Somewhere it's autumn

And orange leaves

Float in puddles gathered

     in sidewalk cracks.

And somewhere there's the first snowfall

Landing on tops of split fence posts.

And somewhere in the

     corners of my mind

I'm falling into your arms

Swirled with the colors of spring

And the smell of a saltwater

     Breeze.

Soft, wistful poem. I like the imagery your words created. Lovely!

My only question is, because leaves is a Plural noun should not the verb, floats be singular-float?

And orange leaves
Float in puddles gathered
in sidewalk cracks.
